Is this Goodwill trying to compete with the Titanic VHS collector on Tik Tok or what?

    2. That entire shelf is referred to as “The Danger Zone” by the employees.

They often invert it just for kicks and the tapes stay right there!!

There are so many VHS copies out there because Top Gun was the first movie made to be *sold* on tape, not just rented. I believe it was $29.99, as opposed to around $100 for other movies up till then.

    4. I believe what you meant to say was:

“I’m about to own 31 VHS copies of Top Gun!”

I work in a second hand bookstore, and we could probably do this with just about any book by Nora Roberts, John le Carré, Dan Brown, John Grisham, Sidney Sheldon, Danielle Steel, or Clive Cussler

Question is why they chose to do so. For second hand stores, shelf space is about the most precious thing you have. You’ll get 30 copies of the same book by the same author in a month and most of them will go to recycling, because you just can’t waste shelf space on something you’re not likely to sell

Perhaps they’re banking on it becoming a meme thing

    6. Do you live near a military base? Because when I was living near Quantico base, there was a glut of used Robotech novels.

    7. I wonder if they’re from a bunch of Scientologists putting their old life behind them

Someone wither really hated that movie or had an addiction and their spouse made them get rid of all traces of it.
